Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (formerly Kano University of Science and Technology) is a Kano State government-owned institution located in Wudil, Kano State[cite: 11]. Established in the year 2001, the university is a proud member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities[cite: 11].

Historical Background

Formerly known as Kano University of Science and Technology (KUST), Wudil, the institution was proposed during the first tenure of the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso[cite: 11]. The university was officially renamed to Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil in 2022[cite: 11].

University Faculties

The university commenced with two faculties: Agriculture & Agricultural Technology, and Science[cite: 11]. Today, it has grown into six academic faculties: Agriculture & Agricultural Technology (FAAT), Computing & Mathematical Science (FACMS), Earth & Environmental Science (FAEES), Engineering (FAENG), Science (FASCI), and Science & Technical Education (FASTE)[cite: 11].
