Department of Mechanical Engineering
Delivering high-quality engineering education, cutting-edge research, and innovative solutions to address real-world challenges.
History of Mechanical Engineering Degree Programme
Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil. Since admitting our inaugural class during the 2000/2001 session, we have grown from a modest cohort of fewer than 60 students to a thriving academic community of over 400 students in 2024/2025.
Our Department is committed to delivering high-quality engineering education, cutting-edge research, and innovative solutions that address real-world challenges. This commitment to academic excellence is reflected in our consistent accreditation history with the National Universities Commission (NUC), having secured full accreditation in 2007, 2016, and 2021. We take pride in nurturing competent, ethical, and industry-ready graduates equipped with the technical expertise and critical thinking skills required to thrive in a rapidly evolving global landscape. We have graduated well over 600 at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, who are now making significant contributions to the energy, production, manufacturing, and academic sectors both within Nigeria and abroad.
At ADUSTECH, Wudil, our curriculum is carefully designed to align with national and international standards, integrating theory with hands-on practice across core areas such as thermofluids, solid mechanics, materials, design, and emerging technologies. The Department has made judicious use of available facilities for remarkable teaching and research, and is poised at breaking new and enviable grounds in years to come, equipped with world-class laboratory facilities.
