Prof. Shehu Alhaji Musa Appointed V.C. KUST, Wudil n erudite scholar and a Professor of Agricultural Economics at Bayero University, Kano Professor Shehu Alhaji Musa has been appointed Vice Chancellor of Kano University of Science and Technology (KUST), Wudil.

The appointment, which is with immediate effect and for an initial four year term, was approved by the Executive Governor of Kano State and visitor to the University, Engineer (Dr.) Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, FNSE.

A 1993 Usmanu Danfodio University graduate of B.Sc. Agriculture, Professor S. A. Musa obtained his Masters of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics in 1997 and a PhD. in 2003 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi.

He started his teaching career in 1995 at ATBU, Bauchi and rose to the position of Lecturer I before he joined the services of Bayero University, Kano in 2004 as a Senior Lecturer.

Professor S. A. Musa was appointed Head of Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension in 2005, and served up to 2009. He was promoted to the rank of Professor of Agricultural Economics in 2011.

In 2012, Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso appointed him Special Adviser II on Food Security and in July 2013, he was appointed the Provost of Audu Bako College of Agriculture (ABCOA), Dambatta, Kano State, a position he was holding before his recent appointment. Prof. Musa has already assumed duties following a brief handover ceremony held on Wednesday, 4th December, 2013.

The new KUST Vice Chancellor hails from Gwagwarandan village, Albasu Local Government Area, Kano State.
