The Visitor and Executive Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, OFR, Khadimul Islam, has Confirmed the appointment of Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai as Vice-Chancellor of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil. This is as a result of the expiration of the two (2) term tenure of Professor Shehu Alhaji Musa which will be effective from January, 2023.The process for the selection of the Vice-Chancellor begin on 7th July, 2022 with the declaration of the vacancy in the office.

Candidates submitted applications and the Governing Council at its 58th Special meeting of Tuesday, 9th August, 2022 constituted the Search Team for the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor.On the completion of the work of the Search Team, A Joint Council and Senate Selection Board meeting of 6th October, 2022 recommended Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai and Two (2) others to the Council. The 59th Special Governing Council meeting of Thursday, 20th October, 2022 approved the appointment of Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai as Vice-Chancellor subject to the confirmation of the Visitor. The confirmation was conveyed vide MHE/SB/S/K/9/T.7/74 dated 14th November, 2022, signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Higher Education, Alhaji Dahiru Ada’u.In addition, the 60th Special meeting of 29th November, 2022, the Governing Council approved the recommendations of the Selection Board on the appointment of Dr. Naheed Ibrahim as Registrar, Dr. Abdullahi Muhammad Dawakin Kudu as University Librarian and Aminu Halilu Tukur as the University Bursar.

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Professor Zubairu Iliyasu, on behalf of the Council, congratulates Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai as the New Vice-Chancellor and other three (3) Principal Officers on their appointments, urging them to see the appointments as confirmation of their qualifications, experience, competence and prays that may Allah Subahanahu Wa Taala guide them in the discharge of their duties.On his part, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shehu Alhaji Musa, on behalf of the Senate, Management, Staff, Students and entire University Community also congratulates Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai as Vice-Chancellor and the other Principal Officers, gives his promise that all members of staff will be loyal and obedient to them and he will always be at their call. In a related development, the Governing Council also approved the promotions of the following Members of Academic Staff to ranks of Professors and Readers,accordingly.
